SAC can serve as a stable standardization anchor within a broader aged-garlic organosulfur matrix, matching the material context used in most human trials.

Evidence scope: Human evidence is for standardized aged-garlic extracts, not purified SAC; equivalence requires compositional and exposure bridging.
Pilot checks: Retain individual-ingredient, blend and carrier controls; check uniformity and post-process assays before packaged samples, documenting study formulations separately from new candidates.

Evidence scope: Formulation rationale only; no direct human trial proving purified SAC–CoQ10 synergy was identified.
Pilot checks: Handle oils and water-soluble ingredients separately; compare separate formats, dispersion or emulsification, checking sedimentation, oxidation and packaging compatibility. Include no-enzyme, no-substrate and reagent blanks; compare cofactor/enzyme levels and establish linearity, recovery and inter-lot precision.
Literature-Supported Research Directions
After consumption of a garlic supplement containing SAC, human pharmacokinetic work found rapid gastrointestinal absorption with a half-life above 10 hours and excretion extending beyond 30 hours. The study used a garlic supplement matrix rather than isolated SAC alone.

A 12-week randomized placebo-controlled trial in 50 patients tested aged-garlic extract capsules providing 2.4 mg/day SAC and reported lower systolic blood pressure in the subgroup with uncontrolled hypertension. The result belongs to the complete extract, not isolated SAC.

A randomized crossover trial in 67 adults with moderate hypercholesterolemia used one tablet daily of black-garlic extract standardized to 1.25 mg SAC and reported a decrease in diastolic blood pressure, especially in a male subgroup. The intervention contained a complete extract and subgroup interpretation requires caution.

S-Allyl-L-cysteine is a water-soluble organosulfur compound used as a characteristic constituent and standardization marker of aged-garlic supplements sold in capsules and tablets. Pure-SAC formulations must not inherit clinical claims from whole aged-garlic extract without bridging evidence.
S-Allyl-L-cysteine (SAC, CAS 21593-77-1) and S-1-propenyl-L-cysteine (S1PC, CAS 52438-09-2) are distinct structural isomers with different double-bond positions. Qualify each using its full name, CAS, and matching identity and assay documentation.
COA PGSAC-260520 reports purity 99.4% against a ≥98% specification. The document does not identify the analytical method for that purity row; the method and assay basis should be agreed separately.
The COA includes ethanol residue, heavy metals, lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, sulfate, iron, chloride and total plate count. The referenced batch reports ethanol residue of 0.08% and loss on drying of 0.09%.
S-Allyl-L-cysteine (SAC) has CAS 21593-77-1, molecular formula C6H11NO2S and molecular weight 161.22 g/mol. Purchasing documentation should match this chemical identity, with the lot COA used separately for purity and quality results.
SAC is a sulfur-containing amino-acid derivative that can be evaluated for nutrition ingredient development, botanical-active research and biochemical research. Match identity and purity to the study protocol, and assess finished applications through formulation testing and destination-market requirements.
S-Allyl-L-cysteine (SAC) is packaged in 1 kg bags. Store sealed, cool, dry and protected from light. Follow the supplied lot documents and order requirements for expiry and transport conditions.
