Short answer

“Low endotoxin” should be treated as a lot-specific quality result, not a permanent property of a supplier or a generic purity claim. Ask whether the result is reported as an exact value, a limit of quantitation or a pass/fail statement, and whether the laboratory is testing the original powder or a prepared solution.

For a serious qualification review, compare the supplier report with an independent test on the qualification sample. If the two results differ, investigate sample preparation, dilution, reagent lot, analyst, storage and shipping history before approving the batch.

4. Storage and packaging are part of endotoxin control

Endotoxin is not the same as total microbial count, and clean packaging alone does not prove a low result. Confirm how the NAD+ powder is protected from moisture and environmental exposure, how the inner foil pouch is sealed, and whether the outer drum or carton is suitable for the intended shipment. Record the lot number and storage condition when the sample arrives; a delayed test on an opened or poorly stored sample may no longer represent the released material.
